October winds come
Chilly and thrum upon
Worn heart strings
A dirge of remembrance
a father’s farewell –
a womb hushed silent.

October sun comes
Singing back, warmth
In joyful celebration
Of wondrous babes
Born of sisters
And friends.

Occasions litter
October like so many leaves.
